REMONDIS has a global workforce of over 30,000 people. People who work in a whole range of professions and yet who all have one common goal: to conserve our planet's raw materials and protect our environment. Both these factors are extremely important in today's world of work, where increasingly people are looking for jobs that reflect their lifestyles – evaluating them according to criteria such as sustainability and meaningfulness. Not only are our operations themselves meaningful but also the actual manner in which we work. Our focus is on creating flat hierarchies, high levels of responsibility and great opportunities for our employees to carve out an attractive career for themselves as well as on offering our staff ongoing further training courses and the opportunity to take part in our international management trainee programmes.
Work is not a privilege but should be available to everyone irrespective of their level of education or social background. This has been one of REMONDIS' guiding principles since its foundation over 80 years ago. Highly qualified managers can find a job at our company as can workers with few or no qualifications, who may otherwise have problems getting a foothold on the job market. Our aim is to strengthen social equilibrium and promote social cohesion.

Well aware of our international responsibilities, we also invest in companies and regions that, at first glance, may not seem to be profitable. This is where we benefit, for example, from our innovative strength. It enables us to increase the profitability of a business – even a business that had previously been classified as critical – and so secure the jobs of those working there and even create new jobs. We are able to contribute towards improving living conditions and establishing environmental standards in different regions around the world. Examples here include our plastics recycling facilities in Taiwan and our water management operations in India, all of which are run strictly in line with REMONDIS' standards.
Sustainability within our company itself doesn't have just one but a whole host of faces. Over 1,100 apprentices work at REMONDIS every single year. Not only the quantity but – and above all – the quality of our apprenticeships is impressive as we guarantee that the same high standards of vocational training are reached across the whole of our group. Admittedly, we are not being completely altruistic here – as today's apprentices are tomorrow's managers. REMONDIS offers over three dozen apprenticeship courses – from training to become a roofer, all the way through to qualifying as an IT specialist. Moreover, we also offer higher level apprenticeships, where our apprentices not only gain their vocational qualifications but also study part time at university to receive a BSc in Business Information Technology or a BA in Business Administration.
EURAWASSER Nord – a REMONDIS Group company – has been presented with the Chamber of Commerce's “Top Training Company“ (Top-Ausbildungsbetrieb) award seven times
It has now become a tradition for the Lippe Plant in Lünen to take part in the annual “Lünen Apprenticeship Evening” (“Nacht der Ausbildung”). This event enables young people to visit local companies and find out more about the apprenticeship courses they have on offer
